Services
Unlike the large telecommunications firms, the St. Olaf College Telephone Office offers personal, friendly, and local service. You may have to sign an extensive contract when signing up for service with the large companies; however, our customers are not required to sign a contract – a handshake will do. Call our office for high-speed internet, telephone, and TV service. Do you need to schedule a teleconference? No problem. We can handle that request, too.
Local dial tone: Our office offers telephone service using single, multiple, and high-capacity digital signal (DS-1) lines.
Long Distance Service: We provide access to long-distance services, which includes 800 numbers, outbound, and metro-area local incoming and outgoing service.
Internet: Internet service can be offered as a combination of internet and local numbers split on a high-capacity digital signal or DSL connections.
Splicing: Our experienced technicians are qualified to connect copper, fiber and coax cables using modern splicing techniques.
Teleconference: We offer video conferencing for up to 25 people and have integrated services digital network (ISDN) capabilities. ISDN is comprised of digital telephony and data-transport services offered by regional telephone carriers. ISDN involves the digitization of the telephone network, which permits voice, data, text, graphics, music, video and other source material to be transmitted over existing telephone wires.
Trenching: Our skilled technicians operate the company-owned 4010 Ditch Witch trenching equipment and are available to assist in underground projects.
Education and Outreach: Craig Dunton has 37 years of experience in the telephone industry, including voice and data communication, repair, complex KEY/PBX installation, fiber optic cable and basic telephone repair expertise. Dunton is available for small or large group presentations explaining basic telephone system operation or assisting with telephone design and planning services.
